Project description

Our client Kepplinger Josef KG is offering rental services for agricultural machines. For better management and invoice writing, a system for keeping track of the machines’ us-age and the creation of invoices has been in place since 2006. Due to the outdated technology used for this system and the accompanying increasing frequency in disfunctions, it should be replaced with more suitable hard- and software.

Onto each machine, a box containing a Raspberry Pi has been mounted, which collects sensor data of the machine and lasts at least a week with battery usage. A hardware Interface already exists to connect the box to the machine’s sensors. Thanks to the implementation of modular configurations, specific sensors can easily be added or removed. The configuration for each can easily be created in de web-app and gets downloaded by each box automatically. Each box contains sensors for recording position, velocity and battery voltage by default.

The web-api then processes the sensor data for the web-app to display. In addition to view the data, the web-app can also be used to manage customers and assign each job to a specific customer. With this information, an invoice can then be created by the web-api using the web-app. This invoice can then be downloaded by the user.
